Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you book

What's the best time to visit the Galapagos?
The Galapagos Islands are a year-round destination! Each season offers unique experiences:

December-May (Warm/Wet Season): Warmer water (75-80°F), calmer seas, best for snorkeling, sea turtle nesting, and marine iguanas breeding.
June-November (Cool/Dry Season): Cooler water (65-75°F), more wildlife activity, great for bird watching, sea lion pupping, and penguin sightings.

We recommend booking 6-12 months in advance for peak season (June-August and December-January).
Do I need any special permits or vaccinations?
Entry Requirements:
• Valid passport (6+ months validity)
• Transit Control Card ($20 USD) purchased at Ecuador airport
• Galapagos National Park fee ($100 USD cash) paid upon arrival

Vaccinations: No vaccinations are required, but we recommend being up-to-date on routine vaccines. Consult your doctor about Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and Yellow Fever depending on your travel plans in Ecuador.
What should I pack for the trip?
Essentials:
• Lightweight, quick-dry clothing
• Swimsuit and rash guard
• Comfortable walking shoes and sandals
• Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, SPF 50+ sunscreen)
• Waterproof bag for excursions
• Camera with waterproof case
• Reusable water bottle
• Light jacket for cool evenings
• Seasickness medication (if prone)

Note: We provide snorkeling equipment, but you're welcome to bring your own mask if preferred.
How physically demanding are the tours?
Our tours are designed for moderate fitness levels. Daily activities typically include:

Hiking: 1-2 miles on uneven volcanic terrain (optional easier routes available)
Snorkeling: 30-60 minutes in open water with life jackets available
Panga Rides: Wet and dry landings requiring balance

If you have mobility concerns, please contact us. We can customize activities to accommodate your needs.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancellation Terms:
90+ days before departure: Full refund minus $200 processing fee
60-89 days: 50% refund
30-59 days: 25% refund
Less than 30 days: No refund

Important: We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect your investment. Weather-related cancellations initiated by us result in a full refund or rescheduling.
Can children join the tours?
Yes! Children ages 5 and up are welcome on most of our tours. The Galapagos is an incredible educational experience for kids.

Family-Friendly Features:
• Child-sized snorkeling equipment
• Life jackets for all water activities
• Flexible itineraries for young travelers
• Kid-friendly meal options

Discounts: Children under 12 receive 15% off. Contact us about family cabins and private tours.
Is WiFi available during the cruise?
Most of our vessels offer complimentary WiFi, though connectivity can be limited in remote areas due to the islands' protected status.

We encourage guests to embrace the digital detox and fully immerse in the natural beauty around you! Emergency communication is always available through the ship's radio.
